Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

An alchemical experiment gone horribly wrong transforms the lives of brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric into a nightmare. To bring their dead mother back to life, they broke the taboo of human transmutation, and the price was steep: Alphonse lost his entire body, while Edward lost a leg and had to sacrifice an arm to bind his brother's soul to an empty suit of armor.

Rescued by their neighbor Pinako and her niece Winry, who builds mechanical prosthetics for Ed using "automail," the two set out on a desperate journey to find the Philosopher's Stone: the only artifact capable of bypassing the laws of alchemy and restoring their bodies. But as Edward makes a name for himself as the "Steel Alchemist," their hunt draws them into a vast conspiracy that threatens to ruin the entire world. If you want a dark story, full of twists and no-holds-barred battles, this is pure legend.
