Soul Eater

Death City is home to the famous Shibusen, a technical academy led by Shinigami Lord Death himself. His mission: to revive "Death Scythes" for the Shinigami to combat the many evils of their fantastical world. These Death Scythes, however, are not made from physical weapons; rather, they are born from human hybrids who have the ability to transform their bodies into demon weapons after consuming the souls of 99 evil beings and one witch's soul. Soul Eater Evans, a Demon Scythe who seems only interested in what's cool, plans to become a Death Scythe with the help of his reptilian wielder, or meister, Maka Albarn. The opposing double works and studies alongside Black Star and his prized weapon Tsubaki, as well as Shinigami's son, Death the Kid, an obsessive-compulsive double wielder of twin pistols Patty and Liz. Soul Eater follows these Shibusen students as they undertake quests to collect souls and protect the city from the threats of the world while working together under the snickering sun to become more dreamy in mind, body, and soul.
