The Darwin Incident

An eco-terrorist organization known as the Animal Liberation Alliance rescues a pregnant chimpanzee from a research laboratory so she can give birth to Charlie, a human-chimpanzee hybrid who will become known to the world as the first "humanzee." Fifteen years later, Charlie's adoptive parents are ready to let him have his first contact with the outside world, allowing him to attend a regular high school. There, he befriends Lucy, a girl as intelligent as she is solitary. But this beginning of a normal life is quickly shattered when the ALA, now even more radical than before, is intent on dragging Charlie into its terrorist plots.
