The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity

Chidori High is an all-boys school, attended predominantly by students from low social classes and with terrible grades; Kikyo Girls' High, on the other hand, is an all-girls school whose students are the daughters of wealthy and prestigious families. These two schools, located next to each other, are constantly feuding with each other. Rintaro Tsumugi, a second-year student at Chidori with a delinquent appearance but a kind nature, meets Kaoruko Waguri one day while helping out at the family bakery. The two hit it off immediately, partly because Kaoruko doesn't seem to care about his appearance, but this sense of peace is quickly shattered when Rintaro discovers that she attends Kikyo. This revelation marks the beginning of a fraught relationship between the two, as they struggle against the limitations imposed by their schools and their surroundings, trying to find their way.
